ABOUT US

Missionaries from three sister organizations (Pioneers, WorldTeam, UFM International/CrossWorld) have combined efforts to partner with GIDI (Gereja Injili Di Indonesia).  We began the process of meeting with local GIDI church leaders in Wamena and agreeing to work together to provide adequate and appropriate healthcare.

Wamena's population fluctuates as schoolchildren from outlying villages come for higher education, young men and women look for city life, and just hang out, while others come from remote areas on a tri-monthly basis when "uang miskin" (poverty money) is handed out by the government.  Best estimates are at 40,000 people.  With only one hospital in town and rotating specialist staff every 3 to 4 months, there is a dire need for a second facility.

Together with GIDI's sponsorship, the all Papuan medical staff and expatriate missionaries are providing compassionate Christ-like care for those who come to the doors of Calvary.
